Guidelines for Authors


The Kroeber Anthropological Society publishes articles in the general field of anthropology (and all its subdisciplines) which are of theoretical, descriptive, or practical interest.  We welcome submissions by students, faculty, and professionals.  Submissions for our general volumes are evaluated through a blind peer review process.

Manuscripts should not exceed 30 typewritten, double-spaced pages, and should conform to the guidelines used by the American Anthropological Association (590Kb pdf file, requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).  For any rule not discussed in the AAA style guide, please see the Chicago Manual of Style (14th edition).  Authors who wish to reprint images, charts, or graphs that have been previously published should contact the original publisher for permission.

Authors should submit two paper copies and one electronic copy of the manuscript.  Paper copies can be sent to:
